But in the last years, everything has changed.
Competition is coming now from many states that are in the region, and it also has an effect on the Mohegan Sun as well as Foxwoods, the 2 gaming resorts that can be found in Connecticut. In September, the revenue figures from Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods have shows a mixture of bag of how this competition could possibly affect every gaming establishment.
In September too, slots revenue at Foxwoods was down 5% exactly one year before. Mohegan Sun has seen an increase in revenue, even if only by 4%. The numbers were known to be indicative of how the trends fell in the last year as the 2 facilities have been supposed to adjust the competition. Revenues of Foxwoods were about 53 million dollars, while the Mohegan Sun revenues were bigger, 60 million dollars.
Revenues of Mohegan Sun were up for the 1st time since the spring started. The economic downturn over the last few months is known to have caused a ripple effect in the gaming industry of the United States, and makes the September numbers all the more welcome by Mohegan Sun officials.
